Just a good ol’boy.

Born in the mid-1970’s (BSW: Before Star Wars) and raised during the grand and mythic 1980’s. It was during this time that I found my creative calling soaking up the incredible movies and comic books of this most fertile era. After high school I attended the Art Institute of Seattle, briefly worked at a video store, and not long after was hired at Humongous Entertainment drawing video game backgrounds, storyboards and conceptual designs. Ten amazing years and dozens of game titles later I moved on from that industry when I was hired as the Art Director at a magazine publisher and trade show company located in Vancouver, Washington. I transformed the look and feel of the company’s publications and trade shows from the ground up and I’m proud to say that many design choices I made during my lengthy tenure were still in use many years after my departure. Then in 2014 I took the opportunity to become an independent illustrator and designer under the banner Freshwater Bay Creative. Most of my current work finds me creating this era’s version of the album cover; the craft beer label! The freedom to create on this canvas is undeniably exciting and allows me a wide breadth of imaginative ideas and direction to explore.

I am a self-proclaimed “movie geek” and can easily discuss my favorite subjects of cinema for hours on end (if unleashed). Much of my creative inspiration comes from the movies and you can usually find a subtle, or not so subtle, influence or homage to film(s) in most of my work.

My other passion is my amazing family! My wonderful wife Matessa, who is an awesome A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer, and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary in 2021! We have been blessed with three beautiful and talented daughters: Tricity, Inara & Liberty. Without the abundant love, intelligence, wit and support of these incredible women in my life Freshwater Bay Creative would not be possible.

New: Freshwater Bay Creative in 2022 relocated from the Pacific Northwest to beautiful South Carolina.
